OUR STORY

We are a family owned business and proud to be independent. Ling Ling and Franck Parnin first opened Le Gros Franck back in 1999 a French Cafe based on Hills Road in Cambridge. Franck Parnin strated training as a chef at the age of 15 in Alsace, France. He trained at the Lycée Hotelier Guebwiller before traveling onto the rest of France and Switzerland to become a Chef.

Coming to the UK, he studied the art of seafood in London and then finally settled in Cambridge. When Le Gros Franck opened, it was the only independent French Restaurant at the time in the City and was praised for it's authenticity and individulaity. One of the cafe's best sellers was 'Le Steak Frites' served with homemade Bernaise Sauce. This dish famously started the next venture La Maison du Steak. Based at the heart of Cambridge, we opened in 2013 and serve Authentic and Traditional dishes specialising in different cuts of steak from Sirloin to Cote de Boeuf at a very reasonable price, we pride ourselves on being affordable and welcoming.
